| Joining Troop 1978 |
Joining the troop is easy. Simply attend any of our normally scheduled Sunday meetings from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at: Cornerstone First United Methodist 7502 North Garland Avenue, Garland Texas 75044. You are even welcome to come camping with us to get the full experience.
Scout and Scouters (adults) be warned, Troop 1978 is a boy/girl led troop and while the scouts learn leadership, it can be chaotic. This is because character development is in progress and sometimes youth have to make mistakes to learn.
After you attend a few meetings and if Troop 1978 is right for you, simply fill out a youth application: http://www.troop1978.org/library/Troop_1978_Application.pdf�and a health application: http://www.troop1978.org/library/Troop1978_Health_Form.pdf�and turn it into any adult leader.
When visiting Troop 1978, ask to talk to one of the Scoutmasters or Committee Chair. The troop guide is a position that is meant to help our newer scouts led by a experienced scout. Take a look around our troop with the troop guide and feel free to ask questions about anything related to scouting in general to the scoutmasters or the troop guide.
