Summer Camp - Jun 10-17, 2012
We had a grand adventure at Camp Constantin this year. We took 22 scouts and 4 adults to Summer Camp. Each of the scouts took 3 classes in the morning and 2 in the afternoon with a open period at 4:00 each day where they could swim or do shooting sports. Some of them chose to have social hour at our campsite with Mr Salinas. They divided the meal times into A and B meal. We ate B meal and really liked it. The food was really pretty good this year. It rained a few times at night and we had a few "cool" days to break up the heat. First year scouts went on an overnight hike up Johnson's Peak. It was really fun until we had to wake up at 3:00am and go back to camp because a storm was coming. Friday night some parents came to visit and we had water competitions including a homemade raft race and a water relay race. We didn't win, but we had lots of fun and lots of laughs. Overall - It was a very memorable week.

Troop Elections - Jul 2, 2012
We elected a new Senior Patrol leader. Preston is our new SPL. We also mixed up our patrols. The new patrols are Phatom Bunnies, Sabertooth, Spider Pig and Challenge Accepted.

House Painting Project - Jul 7-8, 2012
We painted a house in Garland for a service project on the weekend of Jul 7-8. We had a great turnout of 17 scouts, 10 adults and 3 siblings to help us. We painted for most of day on Saturday and had hot dogs for lunch. We had to quit near the end of the day because of rain. We went back and finished the job on Sunday morning. Overall, we painted all the siding white, tan trim and replaced some of the siding and installed new screen doors on the front and back. We worked really hard and felt a great sense of accomplishment to help a needy family in our community.

Lockin and Hawaiian Falls - Jul 7-8, 2012
After painting the house, we spent the night at the Firewheel pool/ clubhouse. We had to wait for the rain and lightning to clear, but we were able to swim after the rain. Several boys took their BSA swim test and then we had some great fun. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and also had corn on the cob and we ate a lot of food because we worked up an appetite while painting and swimming. That night we all lined our sleeping bags, cots and air mattress in the clubhouse and slept very hard. In the morning Tanner and JD cooked us a breakfast of bacon and pancakes. After finishing our house painting project, we went to Hawaiian Falls. We had Little Ceasar's pizza for lunch before going to the park. We had a great time chilling out and riding the water slides.
