What a great day to be in Scouting |
Today must have been one of the better days in Scouting. I had the rare opportunity to watch ~40 scouts participate in the best Scout Sunday I have ever seen. One Boy Scout Troop, two Venture Crews and a Girl Scout Troop all pulled together for this Sunday of Sundays.
As inspiring as watching the Scouts sing and help out what, I think the funniest part was when the Scouts all had down time in-between services. Then we have a campfire (battery operated candle), and had the rare opportunity to ask questions of the circle. Here were just a few of the question:
1. Do you like Justin Bieber? 2. How many pushups can you do? 3. What is your favorite color of mascara? 4. If you could go anywhere, where would it be?
As I am sure you can imagine, the answers ranged far and wide among the boys and girls. Pictures of the event will soon be posted on the Troop photo website.
As if that was not a great day so far, we also had the opportunity to sell firewood after one of the coldest weeks in history. We were able to raise $330.00, and the boys even paid for their own lunch (the lunch of all lunches, hotdogs).
