Scout Example

I just wanted to share with everyone something that happened at Monday night's meeting (on May 16th).
The Scouts were outside playing a game and some were coming in to get a drink of water.  I was getting my stuff together to carry out to my car.  Luke Winkler walked up to me and asked if he could help carry anything.  I told him, "No thank you," but he insisted and grabbed the white board to help me carry it to my van.  When I got to the doors of the church several scouts came running in and pushed past me.  Luke then proceeded to open the other door and held it for me.
Luke's actions took little effort on his part, but made a big impression on me.  What a great example of living:
the Scout Oath "To help other people at all times"
the Scout Law "Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind"
and the Scout Slogan "Do a Good Turn Daily!"
It only takes a few minutes out of your day to offer someone a helping hand, look around and see what you can do to show your Scout Spirit.  You might makes someone's day.
