- Service hours must be pre-approved by the “service hour” scoutmaster
- After the service hours are completed, the scout is to discuss the project with the “service hour” scoutmaster, who will certify the hours have been completed
- Service hours may not benefit, be scheduled by or be on BSA property, meaning that scouting for food would not count
- Service hours may not benefit or be scheduled by our charter organization – Cornerstone United Methodist
- After completion of the service hours, the scout must provide an oral summary to the troop during a troop meeting
- The service hours must be maintained both in the scouts book, signed by the “service hour” scoutmaster and in the Advancement’s records (TroopMaster)
- Life rank service hours must show leadership qualities
- Assisting in an eagle project does not qualify for service hours, as this is normally expected from a scout
