Family Campout, March 2014

On March 21, our troop went on the family campout to Uncle Allen’s. This was my first time to attend a family campout. Although I have been to Uncle Allen’s before, this time I spent most of my time working with Mr. Sanderson and Mrs. Reininger in the cooking area. While I have cooked before on campouts, this was my first time to cook as much as I did. I learned just how hard cooking can be and know what it’s like to not just show up and eat the meals. Although I didn't have much time to even just sit down, I had a great time and I hope that everyone else did as well. While the rotisserie chicken took a long time to cook, this was my favorite meal to prepare. The only unfortunate thing that I know of during the weekend was me cutting my thumb while practicing my whittling skills. I promise that no blood ended up in anybody’s food, and I look forward to the next campout when someone else does the cooking. -Matthew Cole
