| Scouting for Food, a great success |
This past Saturday we had the opportunity to participate in "Scouting for Food". This year, we chose to not just drop off bags, but instead to knock on doors and ask people directly for assistance.
Talking to people was a wonderful experience, meeting people from many walks of life. Some gave just a few items, some gave whole bags full, and some chose not to give.
I think the boys, 8 in total, had an outstanding time and really make a difference. We collected 497 items all donated to the Good Samaritan Food Bank of Garland.
One of the craziest things we collected: Girl Scout cookies!
