Two sides to every coin

Over this past weekend the troop had a great time camping.  We enjoyed the weather, canoeing, ‘Saturday Night Entertainment’ and completing the youth leadership training.  All in all, anyone would have said: a great time had by all.

It often times surprises me how what one person sees as a problem, others see as a great thing.  Case in point, this weekend the adults discussed for probably an hour how the patrols were cooking and cleaning.  While we were concerned that they were burning the food, causing food safety issues and having a challenging time cleaning up.  The boys had a different opinion.  They thought the cooking and food were GREAT and ranked them as one of the funnier things -- like canoeing.

This just goes to show you and constantly reminds me that in a boy run troop, you need to let the boys run it and as an adult leader stop worrying [too much], as they are scouts and they will pass most every challenge.
