This is very simple. Every Scout needs to sell at least $1000.00 in popcorn. They make 28% on all popcorn sales to help fund their Scouting year!! Tanner will take his cost of going to Jamboree which is 425.00 plus 75.00 to get there. Total 500.00. So for him to sell enough popcorn he would have to sell $1785.00 ( $500.00 / 28 percent =17.85 x 100 =$1785.00) worth of popcorn to earn $500.00. So on his form he has $1785.00 as his goal in Big Numbers. It is very important for your Scout to understand this. He is not selling popcorn but the opportunity for them to help send them to Summer-camp, Jamboree, Swamp base or Philmont..doesn't matter which one just pick one. Then you need to circle 3 items on your form to help the customer make a decision. I would circle a microwave, your favorite and one other..Now the sales pitch

If they would give you the objection they don't eat popcorn. Say I understand the Boy Scouts has partnered with the Military for over 10 years to send popcorn to our Men and Woman overseas. For a $25.00 or $40.00 donation it will be sent to them in over 60 different places...
In Troop 1978 all the money that each scout earns goes directly into their passbook account. This allows your Scout to be able to fund his own Scouting experience.. THE BEST TIME TO SELL POPCORN IS RIGHT NOW!!! LETS SPEND SOME TIME GETTING TO OUR GOAL!!! EVERY SCOUT SHOULD SELL AT LEAST $1000.00
